Since its launch, Here’s Looking at You, Kid has explored different tastes and techniques which you can now experience in person with their recently opened gin distillery and bar in North Melbourne.

Our founder Liz Beech has been involved with food and beverage businesses for most of her career. Liz was inspired by the flavours and possibilities of distilling after a trip to Scotland.

It may seem crazy to move your distillery from Mordialloc to North Melbourne in the middle of a pandemic. But that’s exactly what Liz and her family found themselves doing.

Liz says “We looked for a long time trying the find the right venue that worked for us. We needed a space for our bar and masterclasses but it also needed to house our copper pot still Eliza Jane”.

“When I first walked into Errol Street I knew we’d found our home; it’s just fantastic, it’s a natural fit for what we are trying to do. I love living in North Melbourne that locals have been very supportive, there’s a great community here.”

Liz’s new home is situated in the heart of North Melbourne on Errol Street. The two storey Victorian terrace with glass frontage lets in tonnes of natural light which lights up the room and Eliza Jane.
